Tea bread
Its Sunday today, and I woke up with good energy. So I baked these amazing bread for breakfast. In Sweden we call them “tekakor”, but when I translate it to English; tea bread, or even actually tea cookies, and google it, it don’t give me the real result. Anyway, they are really easy to bake, and even more delicious to eat!
All you need is:
100 grams butter
5 dl milk
1 package yeast
2 tbsp syrup
1 tsp salt
Approx.: 10-12 dl special wheat flour
Do this:
Melt the butter, pour in the milk and heat until lukewarm.
Crush the yeast into a bowl / bread machine and pour in a little of the lukewarm dough liquid. Stir until the yeast has dissolved,
add the rest of the liquid, syrup and salt. Pour in the flour, little at a time, until the dough becomes smooth. Work the dough for five minutes.
Let rise for about 15 minutes, divide the dough into about 15 parts and roll out the loaves and flatten with the palm of your hand.
Prick them with a fork and let rise for 5-10 minutes. Flatten them again, just before they go into the oven.
Then bake in the middle of the oven at 225-250 degrees for about 6 minutes, or until the they have a nice color.
